I Should be Writing ...

But lately I've been painting instead, trying to get over a terribly long stretch of writer's block.

I use so much of my verbal energy at work that painting feels like a great relief, a respite from too many words.

I can't tell if it's helping with the writer's block or not, but it does give me something to occupy myself while the hubby is watching Nebraska football.

Dude I want that turtle! (And I won't post it, but to leave this comment, I was given a most delightfully dirty verification word.)

hey, thanks, jimbo. it's an acidified version of a turtle I snapped during our trip to mexico.

I got "ingenis" just now, which sounds like a really smart penis :)

Carrie, beautiful painting of the turtle. I love it. Perhaps your writer's block is just your mind's way of telling you that you need a break from all the words washing over you each day. Keep up your fine art, whichever medium you choose. You are a bright spark.

Thanks, Carreen ... and thanks for the good thoughts. I always get agitated when I don't write for a long time.
