For the first time in 8 years, I'm finding myself shedding tears of joy over the news, rather than ones of disgust or impotent rage.
I'm sure emotional equilibrium will return in a few days.

Tears of joy, yes! At long last, yes! I cried so much last night that I've been completely stopped up all day long. (Also, I'm completely unable to speak from all the screaming and whooping -- Rebel yells for Obama!)
I wish you had been in Washington! It was amazing here. Joy overflowing in the streets. Such a great moment for this country.
Of course, the number of states that passed anti-gay marriage propositions gives one pause. It's so weird to see one civil rights barrier hurdled while more hurdles are put up elsewhere :(
